ICH CAHPS Data Submission Tool Ready for Vendor Testing

The Coordination Team is conducting a data submission practice period to allow ICH CAHPS Survey vendors an opportunity to test the XML programs and files that they develop. Vendors are encouraged to create test XML files and use the downloadable validation tool to ensure proper formatting of their files. Once this has been done, vendors are encouraged to perform test uploads to the ICH CAHPS Data Center.

In order to correctly test XML data files, survey vendors must:

• use CCNs for facilities that have authorized you to submit data on their behalf; and
• use actual SIDs that are included in the Sample File you downloaded for this survey period. Made up or dummy SIDs will not allow your test file to pass the data submission validation checks.

The data submission practice period is open from December 10, 2014 through January 5, 2015. ALL test XML files uploaded during this practice period will be removed from the ICH CAHPS Data Center on January 5, 2015. Vendors will receive a notification from the Coordination Team that the practice period has ended and that all test data has been removed. At that time, the data submission tool will be ready to accept real/valid ICH CAHPS Survey XML data files.

Please remember that the data submission deadline for submitting final ICH CAHPS data files for the 2014 ICH CAHPS Survey is 11:59 Eastern Time on January 28, 2015. Survey vendors are encouraged to submit XML data files as soon as possible after data collection ends. Note, however, that each time an XML file is uploaded for a CCN, the system overwrites the file that was previously submitted for that CCN.
